Games with Gold
#31
I was thinking about maybe grabbing Mafia II, I had fun with first one ages ago now, but it does seem like this month someone remembered they needed games about 5 hours before the deadline for choosing them. Like a few have said surely launch titles would be a win for everyone? At the very worst new people try out good games and remember that, the publishers get a bit more cash and MS look good for relatively little effort. Still what do I know, my head is full of fuzzy felt.

MafiaII was ok from what I remember, not great but certainly worth a punt for free.
Formerly a human being, now closer to the six million dollar man.

TBH it's more of a time thing. Got Black Flag as it was about to expire last month and between what I'd like to play and what I have time to play it's probably just not worth it. I'm sort of stuck in a rut lately where if I fire up my console it's not on for long as I'm too tired to play properly. Fortunately I've got two weeks off next month and work is going to slow down a bit before then, but I'd rather devote what time I can get until then to something I know I won't resent playing.

It's been a while since I played Mafia II but have downloaded it to replay. My memory has fooled me before but seem to recall it was quite fun to play. The Xbox One game this month doesn't intereest me but since Child of Light was so unexpectedly good last month I can roll with that! Hopefully a non-arcade game next month eg Ryse...?

Is it only me playing/enjoying castlestorm then? Smile
I've kinda wanted to play it for a while as i knew it'd be the sort of '20 minute play' type game i like but always thought it was a touch pricey. As it is i've had a lot of fun with it already and would've paid the asking price. It does scream 'mouse' to me instead of controller but there's still lots to enjoy - some easy cheevos so far too for those who care!

I watched a video review of the 360 version and thought it looked quite fun. It's maybe not something I would have paid for but I'm sure I'll enjoy it when I give it a try.

Pool Nation FX is actually a pretty in-depth pub game simulator, featuring multiple game types including 8 ball pool, 9 ball pool, snooker and more! You are able to apply all sorts of spin and other cue based stuff to pull off the perfect trick shot!
