I just started the second book in Joe Abercrombie's First Law trilogy, 'Before they are hanged'. The first book, 'The Blade Itself' was good, but could be a bit of a slog in the middle.
I finished Blake Crouch's Wayward Pines trilogy recently. Great books, very Twin Peaks/X-Files with some good twists and a villain you'll love to hate. Fox have made it into a TV series starring Matt Dillon and produced by M. Night Shamalamadingdong.

I've recently discovered the lovely writings of Robin Hobb. Would recommend the Liveship series especially, they're very good indeed.

Finished Ubik, great story, great twist, fantastic use of my reading time. Now onto a stack of books that includes some pressies (a couple of Bill Bryson works, T.E. Lawrence's Seven Pillars of Wisdom) and that tribes of Britain book from before.

Hmm, sounds interesting Hetty, that can go on the top of the list for when I've finished with the ~15 books I've got piled around my flat.

On a brief tangent, this year marks the 20th anniversary of A Game of Thrones kicking off A Song of Ice and Fire in print. Eeep.

Just read Before the Awakening, the official companion novel set before The Force Awakens. It was decent enough, it adds some backstory to Poe, Finn and Rey. Poe's was easily the best, but Finn's part justifies how he was able to handle a lightsaber so well.
So Uncharted 3 may have made me want to read TE Lawrence and I am in place of the Tribes book, I left that too long and will need to restart I think.

I've also got the Hunchback of Notre Dame on the go as well. Good times. At some point I may try and look into the Dune saga again.

Read the first volume of All New Captain America(Sam Wilson) today.

It was pretty terrible. The end of the fifth issue being...his pet bird being eaten. What a twist.

Also, here's a fun drinking game for the series: Take a shot everytime someone says something equivalent to "You are the New Captain America" or "You're not worthy".

The best gem being Batroc The Leaper's quotes:

The Dwarves game is out this Thursday, and it looks pretty interesting. I'd never heard of it or the book it was inspired by, so I ordered the novel which turned up today, and it is a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be! Opening few pages seem alright, so I'm looking forward to it.
Anyone here know the Cemetery of the Forgotten Books series? Fantastic series, imo
