I'm looking for a new fantasy series to get into. Anyone got any recommendations? I've mostly been reading history of late, when I've actually been reading. Re-read Diarmaid MacCulloch's History of Christianity a couple of months ago - highly recommended for anyone interested in that kinda thing. Smile

If you haven't read A Song of Ice and Fire I would really recommend them. Other suggestions I could make would be the Chaos Walking trilogy. Just occured to me that I don't read that much fantasy.

Terry Pratchett, creator of the Discworld series has passed away at the age of 66. Sad

No...  Sad  Sad  Sad I mean I knew it was coming, but still. Least he's groomed Rihanna to keep his work going. Rhianna? I forget which way normal people spell it.

Unfortunately, Max, erm... *whispers* I-don't-actually-like-GoT-at-all... Smile

I'm still gone, but this event was one thing I thought it worth creeping back and mentioning, I see you're already aware though, so I shall leave once more.

One thing though Lesbro, Rhianna won't be writing any DW books. She's the custodian of it all now, but she's openly said she's not interested in writing any future books in the series. I think she'll be focused more on multimedia, such as the ever-in-the-works "CSI Ankh-Morpork" that is planned.

Terrible news. The Disc World books are fantastic. I don't think I'll ever enjoy a series as much.

CSI Ankh-Morpork? Is this a thing? It sounds too good to be a thing. I'm being trolled again, aren't I?

It's good to see/hear/read you. Smile Ah, makes sense. To be honest it's probably best if she doesn't, much as she is a fantastic writer in her own right and more qualified than anyone to do so. Such a sad day.

Yes and no. It's called 'The Watch', 'CSI Ankh-Morpork' is a quick synopsis of how it's meant to play out episode to episode.

That sounds brilliant. It can't come soon enough.

I'd recommend the Ketty Jay novels to any one who hasn't read them. Simply fantastic series.
