I always knew you were a good egg, Max.

It is. I'm the guy who told them about bikes.

Farfetch'd is getting a Pokémon Sword exclusive Galar evolution called Sirfetch'd. Look at the size of that leek.

That would make for some epic cawl.

Is there much of a difference between Sword and Shield? I'm getting one of them for my son but I don't know which one to get.

I too, will have to make this choice when I get around to buying it one day. I was originally leaning towards Shield, but Sword has Sirfetch'd as an exclusive 'mon, so that might swing it.

A few different Pokemon (including which Legendary you ultimately get) and a few of the Gym Leaders; other than those minor differences, they're essentially the same game. Pokemon can be traded for, so really all that's absolutely version exclusive is Gyms.

Thanks. I like the sound of Sword better than Shield so I'll go with that.

There's a Sword and Shield expansion pass coming that adds two new areas.

How’s your son enjoying Sword, Chris?

Shield has been my first Pokémon game since Crystal, I believe. Played Blue and Gold before that and was totally enamoured with Pokémon as a kid.

I’m nearly finished with it, got a save just before fighting Champion Leon. I’ve enjoyed it for the most part, but the reason I haven’t played in so long (and it’s still true here) is that I just find Pokémon games to be egregiously lazy. In the grand scheme of things, next to nothing of significance has changed since back in the Game Boy days.

They still sell incredibly well so most likely that won’t change, but considering that Pokémon is literally the biggest franchise in the world they could make so much more of it. New instalments are churned out like most annual sports games at this point.
