I was too scared to use it. Basically you have to like lean back in your chair when the alien is looking for you in lockers or vents etc, and I thought the controller would be much more accurate and save me from constantly failing. Likewise with the audio detection, it's great, but if like myself you don't play horrors much and trawl about going 'Oh sheeeeeeiiit' the Alien will hear you. He...or she... will also hear Bob and Jenny walking in to see what you're up to. 'I'm just playing, Alien, well, I was... you've just killed me'.

If you want that and the great voice control nav of the dashboard then it's great, otherwise I'd say no on it's own - but the price is pretty darn good - you're basically getting kinect free.
...and if you tell that to the kids of today, they wont believe you!

I went for it in the end. Can't wait to use this Kinect and give Alien Isolation a go. As you said, it was effectively Kinect for free so figured why not. Will eventually give my review of it.

Does give me 5 days to finish Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen, but I'm just not getting drawn into it

Dragons Dogma is an odd one - there are rumours of Dragons Dogma Online surfacing soon, co-op would be brilliant in that game - but basically it was all about the gameplay and the pawn sharing. The fighting and magic was some of the best, and sending your pawn into the wild and them coming back with loads of hints and tips for fighting was a great touch. But the graphics, story, game world, voice acting, pretty much everything else was rubbish. Like terrible.

Did like how they made night time scary though, more games should do this, I only know of that, Dying Light (which I really want to play) and minecraft that make night scarier. Imagine Far Cry where night time is pure stealth fun, but the creatures in the wild deadly. Not enough games utilise darkness. Even if they do it is never quite pure darkness. Alien should be played at quite dark levels to bring the topic back around, what the hell is this thread anyway? Tongue

It's not action orientated like those games, shooting your gun will call the alien to your position. The game is really tense and frequently scary, you kind of don't want to explore the big levels, but you also need to at the same time.

So I think I gave up on Dragons Dogma, which makes it maybe the 3rd game out of 130 that I'll have started on 360 but not finished. I couldn't find the story captivating enough, the combat felt like button bashing and the quests all just seemed like random fetch quests. Maybe it's not even the games fault, maybe I'm just over the knights and mages style of RPG for a while.

I have started playing XCOM: Enemy Unknown though. I've played it already on the iPad, which was a mistake as I ended up cursing it for crashing all the time. The game itself was great fun and the 360 version is just as good and engaging even the 2nd time round. The camera angles can be a little annoying at times but it's incredibly addictive. It wasn't until 1am last night that I finally said no more missions, no more upgrades to my base.

Was their another in the series or did I just imagine that?

Funny you should mention that, I have just started playing XCOM Enemy Within (basically an upgraded expansion of the original game) on PC as I'll be making some videos regarding XCOM.

There was another game called The bureau XCOM declassified, which is more like mass effect but not actually a very good game.

If anyone has any ideas about what they want to see regards that let me know.

I think it would be fun if you named your soldiers after PTC community members.
I tend to like "Let's Plays" that are either banterous with multiple commentators, or if a single person, deeply informative into the game's mechanics and how you are enjoying your experience, like a running review.
But that's just what I think I like.

Yeah the naming thing is something I'm already doing, and the general aim is just to show how horrible my play throughs generally are, we've tried some podcasts and the sound quality is ok but it's difficult to do an effective bit of banter without the other person seeing what's going on. Stream it I hear you say, ah but my upload speed is terrible haha we will work it out as it was one of the original ideas.
