Oh I seem to remember they sunk lol, but they didn't instantly lose shields and drown within a split-second xD

The Halo forums are just full of typical aggressive, know it all Americans abusing the English language; there's almost no discussion as they all just resort to insults when their opinions are challenged.

Anyway. I wonder if any SIIs will be in Halo 5? I think at least Kelly and Fred deserve to be in one game rather than existing primarily on paper and in that rubbish live-action thing.

Also, what's your opinions on the tissue paper shield in the H5 beta? I felt as if I had weight and power but the fragile shield just made the game feel off. Darting around at such a fast pace and dying in a few seconds didn't feel very Halo; I didn't feel like a Spartan.

Well Spartan IIs other than John...
I would certainly like to see some more of these Spartans, but in Halo 5 I doubt we will see any IIs or IIIs, at least not in a particularly significant role. Locke's team will probably comprise of IVs, though as the IIs, IIIs, and ODSTs were all invited to be phased into the Spartan IV program, then his team could potentially feature some familiar faces.

I really want a game that focuses on all these other early Spartans and their teams, before John went and did all his Halo stuff. I also want a new ODST game.

Also I thought that it was Sam with Kelly and John in Forward Unto Dawn, but hey.

Just looked, it was Fred.

If we do see any SIIs then I imagine they'll be COs rather than foot soldiers due to their age. Maybe a few aged biologically slower depending on how much time they spent in cryo-sleep, like the Master Chief. Although I'm sure I've read that they age slower due to augmentations. The end of Halo 4 contradicts that though as MCs eyeline is that of a man in his 40s; I could be wrong as I'm a bit behind on the lore.

Agree on the prequel idea or new ODST, big time. The Spartan IVs were a bit boring in H4.
Would be awesome to have a game starring a Grunt, haha.

New book in the works about Buck from ODST, set pre-guardians I reckon. Comes out very soon actually, at least digitally.

I've only just started to get into it, I've been reading the Kilo-5 trilogy by Karen Traviss, which I've really enjoyed. It is set a bit before Halo 4, and sort of ties in. Rodent would say it is necessary to read i you want to understand Halo 4's plot. I on the other hand think that it is not necessary, but if you are a fan of the franchise it is greatly rewarding additional content and background.

It's helpful in that it explains what happens between the Covenant and Humanity and therefore you don't have to spend the entire game making guesses as to why you're suddenly battling the Covenant, where it's vaguely hinted that they're a seperate group.

Likewise the Greg Bear ones help explain all that Didacty stuff all them millions of years ago

the most ridiculous shot ever. I also tried MCC after the latest patch and it is now working well for multiplayer.
